The Department of Mathematical Sciences is inviting applications for an appointment to two Lecturer positions in Statistics. Applications are welcome in any area of Statistics that complements and enhances existing activity at Bath.

You will have shown the potential for achieving and sustaining a leading research programme, and to be active in developing and submitting competitive applications for external funding. You should also have a strong interest in pursuing excellence in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and in supervising graduate students. In particular, the department will be expanding its offering of units related to Data Science.

The Department has over 70 academic staff representing all areas of Mathematics. You will be part of the research group in Statistics. Our Department emphasises the unity of Mathematics and there are strong interactions between research groups. Impact is achieved through a wide variety of interdisciplinary research projects, and industrial collaborations. These activities are supported by the Centre for Doctoral Training in Statistical Applied Mathematics at Bath (SAMBa), which has currently over 70 PhD students. In addition, the Bath Institute for Mathematical Innovation (IMI), promotes, and supports, cross-campus research activities, industrial, and international collaborations, in all areas of mathematics and statistics. Various research centres such as the Centre for Mathematical Biology, the Centre for Mathematics and Algorithms for Data, the Centre for Networks and Collective Behaviour, and the Centre for Nonlinear Mechanics, provide focus in interdisciplinary collaborations
