Position Description:    

YALE UNIVERSITY Position in Mathematics Instruction

The Department of Mathematics at Yale seeks one or more individuals with demonstrated commitment to college mathematics teaching to be appointed at the instructional rank of Lecturer. Salary commensurate with experience.

The successful candidate will have a 2-2 teaching load, focused on introductory courses through multivariable calculus. They will join a team of lecturers in working with faculty and graduate student instructors to develop their teaching, directing multi-section courses, working on curriculum development, and performing administrative tasks related to teaching.

The position is for three years. In rare cases, it may carry the possibility of renewal.

Qualifications: Ph.D. in mathematics; interest and skill in teaching introductory mathematics courses. We welcome additional experience relevant to the duties listed above.

Three to five letters of reference, at least two of which must focus on teaching 4. Teaching statement 5. Teaching portfolio that includes at least one complete set of recent student evaluations from an introductory course, as well as other evidence of teaching engagement and creativity.
