*** this position has been closed and new applications are no longer accepted. ***

The Center for Communications Research, Princeton (CCRP) is searching for research staff members in mathematics, statistics, computer science, and related fields to join our exciting research effort. We are part of a non-profit corporation, the Institute for Defense Analyses (IDA), but our research environment feels like that of a mathematics department at a leading university, except we do not have students. We work on a wide variety of difficult challenges in mathematics, computer science and statistics whose solutions are of interest to the National Security Agency. People who thrive here enjoy solving difficult problems and proving theorems using a wide variety of tools. Rather than recruiting in specific sub-fields of those fields mentioned above, we are looking for smart PhDs who are willing and able to learn whatever it takes to solve our ever-evolving research problems. Some require very deep and sophisticated mathematics, others the latest computational technologies, and many require both.

We are located in Princeton, NJ, home of Princeton University and with several world class companies in the region. The Princeton area is a great place to live with excellent schools and many enjoyable indoor and outdoor activities.

US citizenship is required. Employment is contingent on obtaining an appropriate security clearance (which we will sponsor). The start date for this position is flexible, but we anticipate that a typical applicant will begin work in fall 2021.

Interested individuals should apply via this website. Please submit an AMS cover sheet; a cover letter; CV; a discussion of your research; and three letters of recommendation (preferred) or names and contact information of three people who can speak knowledgeably about your research contributions. Applications received by December 1, 2020, will receive full consideration.
