ROLE of the POSITION

Commencing Fall 2021, the primary role for this non tenure-track Assistant Professor Faculty in Residence (FIR) role is to teach four sections of math/stat courses, including courses such as Math 120, 124, 126, 127, 128, 132, and Stat 152, each fall and spring semester. The position is required to perform all standard teaching duties, including holding regularly scheduled office hours, providing mid-semester grades, and providing assessment data for their courses. The position also includes a service component, which may be in the form of mentoring the Lecturers, Part-Time Instructors (PTIs) and Graduate Assistants (GAs) with similar assignments, collecting and analyzing performance data in their courses. During summers (approximately May 15 – August 15), there are no duties; however, there is often an opportunity to teach for additional compensation.

QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a Ph.D. in Mathematical Sciences or Mathematics Education from a regionally accredited college or university. Preference will be given to applicants who have at least two years teaching experience at the college level. A record of successful teaching experience in lower division mathematics courses is preferred. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment.

SALARY RANGE

Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
