The University of Texas at Arlington Open Rank Faculty Positions Position Id: F00231P

The Department of Mathematics at the University of Texas Arlington (UTA) is spearheading a new, multi-disciplinary hiring initiative in support of our strategic plan, Bold Solutions | Global Impact.

UTA is uniquely positioned to address the epic challenges that face our growing urban regions. By leveraging our expertise in the critical areas above, the University is poised to help emerging megacities like the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex become sustainable economic and cultural centers that raise the prospects for prosperity and enhance quality of life.

We are looking for strong faculty who will contribute in their area or areas of expertise to the unprecedented excellence in research, teaching, and community engagement taking place in our eight colleges/schools: Business; Architecture, Planning, and Public Affairs; Engineering; Education; Liberal Arts; Nursing and Health Innovation; Science; and Social Work.

One of UTA’s goals is to increase the representation of historically underrepresented faculty, including underrepresented minority faculty in general and women faculty in STEM fields. Increasing the representation of faculty members who understand, and have overcome, race, gender-based, and ability barriers and biases is vital to the success and well-being of our students. Diversity is critical to academic excellence. As research demonstrates, diverse teams are more innovative, productive, and solve complex problems faster. UTA is committed to preparing all students to live and work in an increasingly global, diverse, and interconnected world by exposing them to a wide array of ideas, experiences, cultures, and individuals.

The University of Texas at Arlington is a Carnegie Research-1 “very high research activity” institution. With a student enrollment of approximately 60,000 globally, UTA is rapidly becoming one of the largest institutions in the State of Texas. U.S. News & World Report ranks UTA sixth in the nation for undergraduate ethnic diversity. The University is a Hispanic-Serving Institution and is the top four-year college in the nation for veterans on Military Times’ 2020 Best for Vets list.

Early career candidates must demonstrate strong potential to develop a research program supported by external funding, while more established candidates must demonstrate active, externally funded research agendas. ABD candidates will also be considered.
