Student Profile Austin Community College District (ACC) is a Hispanic-Serving Institution. ACC's designation as a Hispanic-Serving Institution reflects the commitment the college has to supporting our students' educational goals as well as the economic and social well-being of the surrounding communities we serve. ACC currently enrolls approximately 41,500 students each Fall semester, over half of whom are non-white. Current Work of the Department/Discipline The Mathematics Department offers both developmental level and college credit courses across 11 campuses and online, and also offers dual enrollment college credit courses for area high school students seeking to earn both high school and college credit. In particular, the department offers a wide range of corequired developmental level/college credit math courses taught by faculty pairs, requiring ongoing collaboration and communication. The department is dedicated to the use of curriculum that is responsive to the students it serves, offering non-STEM alternatives to the traditional algebra/calculus track, using data to asses the impact of corequisite models, and regularly updating the approach to teaching all levels of mathematics. Job Summary Responsible to prepare and deliver Mathematics coursework in engaging, innovative, and discipline-appropriate ways that reflect a commitment to success equity, respect for diversity, an understanding of culturally responsive teaching, and knowledge of the teaching field.
