Overview Subject to budget considerations, the Mathematics in Computing Section is seeking qualified applicants for postdoctoral positions in several areas of research, including multiscale modeling and simulations, model reduction, iterative solvers, scalable algorithms (including mathematical software), uncertainty quantification and optimization. Applicants will be expected to support research programs in fundamental mathematics.
The position requires collaboration within a multi-disciplinary research environment consisting of mathematicians, computational and computer scientists, and domain scientists (both theoretical and experimental) conducting basic and applied research in support of the Laboratory’s mission. Specific responsibilities include:
Basic Qualifications. · Demonstrated written and oral communication skills. · Effective interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications. One or more of the following: Background in numerical analysis and methods development for differential and integral equations.
