The Mathematics Department at North Carolina State University invites applications for multiple two-year postdoctoral positions beginning Fall 2021. The position is renewable for a third year, conditional on satisfactory progress and availability of funding. We are seeking exceptionally well-qualified individuals with research interests compatible with those in the department. Candidates must have obtained a Ph.D. in mathematics or a closely related field prior to the start date, and must demonstrate research excellence, strong oral and written communication skills, and a commitment to effective teaching. In addition to research, the postdoctoral researcher's responsibility will include some teaching during the academic year. The number of courses will depend on the budget situation and will be negotiated at the time of hiring. Inclusiveness and diversity are critical to the success of the College of Sciences and the University. The selected candidate will be expected to foster an environment that is supportive and welcoming to all groups. The Department of Mathematics has strong research programs in both pure and applied mathematics. Many members of the department participate in interdisciplinary programs and research groups on campus and in the broader Research Triangle community. More information about the department can be found at Department of Mathematics | NC State University (ncsu.edu). To submit your application materials, go to http://www.mathjobs.org/jobs/ncsu. Include a cover letter, a CV, a description of current and planned research, and the names of at least three potential letter writers. Women and members of under-represented minority groups are particularly encouraged to apply. Applications received by February 15, 2021 will be given priority. However, we will begin considering applications immediately and will continue to review applications until the position is filled. |
