Department of Mathematical Sciences at Florida Institute of Technology invites applications for an open rank tenured/tenure-track faculty position to start in August 2021. The Department is committed to opening new avenues for interdisciplinary research by means of scientific exchange and collaboration with researchers from diverse areas of engineering and science. Candidates with expertise in the broad areas of operations research and computational mathematics are strongly encouraged to apply. Active research areas within the Department of Mathematical Sciences include numerical analysis, statistical and stochastic analysis, optimization, optimization under uncertainty, biomathematics, data science, mathematical machine learning, ordinary/partial differential equations, and mathematical physics. Qualifications for the position include a Ph.D. degree in mathematics or a related area by the start of the appointment. Applicants should demonstrate accomplishments in research, potential to attract external funding, and strong commitment to excellence in teaching, service, and mentorship at the undergraduate and graduate level. We are particularly interested in applicants who can establish interdisciplinary collaborations and industry connections through their research program. Having a post-doctoral and/or funded research experience is a plus.
