Our Mathematical Institute for Machine Learning and Data Science, which is currently being founded at the Faculty of Mathematics and Geography invites applications for the

Chair of Reliable Machine Learning (W3)

to be filled by October 1, 2021, on a permanent basis. The professorship is embedded in the network "Resource Aware Artificial Intelligence for Future Technologies" of the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg, the Technical University of Munich and the University of Bayreuth. It is funded within the framework of the AI Competition Bavaria 2020. 

Your responsibilities 

• Taking over courses and conceptual development of the existing mathematical study program
• Active participation in the design of ongoing and planned (interdisciplinary) research collaborations, especially with the partners in the network
• Internationalization of research and teaching
• High commitment in the Mathematical Institute for Machine Learning and Data Science
• Cooperation with the planned Center for Ethics as well as with the Artificial Intelligence Network Ingolstadt gGmbH (AININ)

Your profile

• Internationally recognized through publications and conference contributions in the field of machine learning, including the mathematical foundations of machine learning
• Experience in interdisciplinary collaboration
• Successes in the acquisition of third-party funding
• Broad, varied teaching experience and very good didactical skills
