The Department of Statistics in the College of Science at Purdue University invites nominations and applications for a tenured or tenure-track professor position beginning August 2021 at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. This search is part of a larger faculty hiring investment in the areas of computational and data sciences. The Department of Statistics website provides information on all open positions. Purdue University seeks to attract candidates with an outstanding record of achievement, ready to strengthen a key department, and build cross-campus linkages in data science and other core statistical areas.

College and Department: These positions come at a time of dynamic leadership and with significant investment in the College of Science, which comprises the computing, physical, and life sciences at Purdue. The College has committed considerable resources in Data Science and provides highly competitive start-up packages in Statistics. The Department has 38 tenured and tenure-track professors, 16 lecturers, 160 graduate students, and a large number of undergraduates. The Department’s teaching and research activities cover a broad range of topics integral to modern statistics (theoretical, methodological, computational, and applied), probability, and data science, as well as connections to computational finance and actuarial science, industrial statistics, machine learning and artificial intelligence, spatial statistics and environmental statistics, and statistical genetics and genomics. Qualifications and Applications: All applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Statistics or a related field, and be committed to excellence in research as well as teaching and mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students in Statistics.
