About the Steklov Mathematical Institute of RAS:

Steklov Mathematical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences is the leading Russian research institute in mathematics. Steklov International Mathematical Center (SIMC) was established here in 2019 to advance the international activities of the Institute. The international postdoctoral program functions within SIMC.

Steklov Mathematical Institute hosts around 135 researchers, who include recipients of the Fields Medal, Rolf Nevanlinna Prize, Claude E. Shannon Award, and the European Mathematical Society Prize, and 27 invited speakers to the International Congress of Mathematicians. There were invited speakers from Steklov Mathematical Institute at all ICMs since 1954.

The unique environment at Steklov Mathematical Institute covers research in all main areas of mathematics: algebra, algebraic geometry, number theory, mathematical logic, geometry and topology, complex analysis, functional analysis, differential equations, mechanics, probability theory, mathematical and theoretical physics, quantum information. The Institute publishes twelve of the top Russian journals in mathematics including Russian Mathematical Surveys, Izvestiya: Mathematics, Sbornik: Mathematics. It also hosts the online platform Math-Net.Ru containing a wealth of information on mathematics in Russia.

Steklov Mathematical Institute offers a pool of intensive courses for graduate students and strong undergraduates in various fields of mathematics. It regularly holds international conferences and attracts many mathematicians who visit its research seminars. The Institute offers its staff comfortable working spaces with all the necessary facilities needed for successful research. At the same time, the Institute is a relatively small body and enjoys a warm atmosphere full of friendly and enthusiastic people.
