implementation of the Circular Economy. The Faculty of Mathematics/Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering of Clausthal University of Technology is seeking to fill the position of University Professor (Salary W2 BBesO) "Stochastics"
(m/f/d) at the Institute of Mathematics as soon as possible. We are looking for an internationally renowned person with a research area complementing the research conducted at the Institute of Mathematics. The research of the candidate should focus on stochastic modelling, uncertainty quantification, stochastic optimization, stochastic (partial) differential equations or Bayesian statistics. Experience in applications from natural sciences, engineering or economics is desirable.
The successful candidate should actively participate in the further development of the research profile of Clausthal University of Technology. He or she should promote the cooperation between mathematics and natural sciences, engineering, computer science and economics. Applicants are expected to participate in coordinated interdisciplinary research programs. The candidate is expected to contribute to the degree program “Applied Mathematics” by taking responsibilities for basic mathematical education, teaching at master level, as well as teaching courses as service for other disciplines. The requirements of the position are defined in section 25 of the Niedersachsen Higher Education Act (Niedersächsisches Hochschulgesetz NHG).
Experience in the acquisition of third-party funded projects is expected.
The willingness to hold courses in German and English is a prerequisite. Strong commitment to teaching is expected. A part-time professorship is possible upon request. Applicants who are 50 years or older at the time the appointment commences and who do not hold already a permanent civil servant status (Beamtenverhältnis auf Lebenszeit) will be employed with employee status (Angestelltenverhältnis).
