Position Responsibilities: Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota invites candidates to apply for a full-time, non-tenure track, three-year term faculty position in the Department of Mathematics, Computer Science and Physics, beginning in August 2021. The standard teaching load is 22-24 credit hours per contract year, covering areas of undergraduate computer science classes. Other responsibilities include service to the department and university and continuing professional development or scholarly activity. We seek an enthusiastic individual, interested in joining a community of educator-scholars who are passionate about preparing the next generation for the challenges of tomorrow. Essential Skills and Abilities:
The successful candidate will hold a graduate degree, Ph.D. preferred, in computer science or a closely related field or a master’s degree in computer science with significant software engineering, data science, or cybersecurity experience at the time of appointment. The candidate must be able to teach a wide variety of undergraduate computer science courses (from foundational computer science courses to software design and information technology related courses). Candidates must have an interest in advancing the curriculum in line with current trends in the computer science field and have a record of effective instruction and the potential to achieve excellence in undergraduate teaching. Candidates are expected to support the Lasallian Catholic mission of the University to awaken, nurture, and empower learners to ethical lives of service and leadership.
