The Department of Mathematical Sciences at Worcester Polytechnic Institute invites applications for a postdoctoral position (renewable contingent on funding) in the research group of Professor Sarah Olson, beginning Summer 2021, on the topics of mathematical biology and computational fluid dynamics. This research position is to work with PI Olson to develop analytical and computational models and methods to investigate different biological phenomena. Current research is focused on developing novel methods to understand efficiency and interactions related to swimming micro-organisms, cell-division in cells with extra centrosomes, and activity at the neuromuscular junction. A Ph.D in the Mathematical Sciences or other closely related fields is required. Applicants should submit all materials electronically through MathJobs, which includes a cover letter, curriculum vitae, and a statement describing current and planned research. At least three letters of recommendation are required. Review of applications will begin on January 1st, 2021 and will continue until the positions are filled.
