The Department of Mathematics of the University of Luxembourg has an opening for 3 postdoctoral positions in geometry, two financed by a grant from the Luxembourg National Research Fund and one by the university. All positions are for 2 years, with a possibility of extension, starting on Sept 1, 2021 or later.
Your Role Develop independent research and participate in a research project on the geometry of convex domains in hyperbolic manifolds. Limited participation in the teaching missions of the Mathematics Department (at most 70h/year).
Your Profile Candidates should have a recent PhD (to be obtained at the beginning of the contract) and excellent research potential with research interests in low-dimensional geometry and topology, geometric analysis, or related areas in mathematics or possibly mathematical physics. Experience in hyperbolic geometry, Teichmüller theory, geometric analysis, or the study of moduli spaces of geometric structures or representations varieties is a plus. Knowledge of English is required, French or German is a plus.
We offer Outstanding research conditions in an international and inspiring environment. Possibility to become a member of a young team of dedicated researchers.
