The Department of Mathematics at École polytechnique considers hiring two Monge Professors. Applicants should be prepared to get involved in long-term educational and mentoring projects at École polytechnique at any teaching level. Courses are expected to be given in English for some part of the teaching load. Research activities will be carried out within one of the teams of the Centre de Mathématiques Laurent Schwartz (algebra and number theory, analysis and partial differential equations, geometry and dynamical systems). Applicants will be mathematicians having international recognition in their field and demonstrate excellent teaching skills. If not already obtained, it is expected that the applicant will defend his/her habilitation thesis within a couple of years after his/her hiring.
