About UC Blue Ash The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College (UCBA) invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Statistics position in our Math, Physics, and Computer Science Department. UC Blue Ash College is the largest regional college in Ohio, located in Blue Ash, Ohio. UCBA is a suburban campus of the University of Cincinnati whose mission emphasizes quality teaching. The college has an enrollment of approximately 5,100 students and offers a variety of degree programs at the associate and technical baccalaureate levels.

Job Overview A Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Cincinnati is expected to teach and participate in scholarly and other professional or creative activities. This position will support the University of Cincinnati’s mission and commitment to excellence and diversity in our students, faculty, staff, and all of our activities.

The areas of teaching for this position include a range of statistics classes at the freshman and sophomore levels. UC Blue Ash College faculty’s teaching load consists of four-course sections per semester and may include evening and online classes; class sizes normally range from 20 to 30 students. The position is scheduled to begin August 15, 2021 and is expected to last one academic year.

Essential Functions • Conduct and teach assigned undergraduate courses and seminars. • Attend meetings, participate in governance, prepare materials for teaching. • Evaluate and develop curriculum for department and/or college. • Serve as an academic adviser for students and evaluate student coursework. • Serve on college or university committees and participate in curriculum development activities. • Engage in other activities ancillary to or in support of his or her responsibilities. • Render service to the professional or lay community which is relevant to the individual’s academic specialty. • Review, and where necessary, respond in a timely manner to all University-related communications. • Other related duties as assigned.

Required Education • Candidates must have a minimum of a master’s degree in Statistics, or a Master's degree (or higher) in a related field with 18 graduate semester credit hours in Statistics.

Required Experience • All applicants must have at least one year of college-level teaching as the instructor-of-record prior to the appointment’s effective date.

Additional Qualifications Considered • PhD in statistics. • Experience teaching freshman and sophomore-level statistics courses. • Experience teaching in both face-to-face and online environments. • Experience with teaching diverse learner populations.
