Job Description: Lecturer III, Mathematics, The Department of Mathematics and Statistics invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track appointment, (6 or 7 courses per year/21 credits per year) which begins September 1, 2021. 
 
Required Qualifications: 
• Master’s degree in Mathematics 
• At least three years of experience teaching mathematics at the post-secondary level 
• Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching college-level courses, particularly in the Calculus sequence 

The successful candidate must be able to develop and teach courses at the freshman-sophomore level, including Precalculus and Calculus I and II. An ability and willingness to teach Multivariate Calculus, Linear Algebra, or Differential Equations is also desirable. The successful candidate must show potential for and commitment to teaching and learning using evidence based or high impact practices, as well as working with talented and diverse students at the undergraduate level. Leadership in the Department’s retention efforts is desired, along with familiarity with technology for effective teaching and classroom management. In addition to teaching duties, the candidate is expected to serve as a course chair for Calculus I and II, managing and updating the syllabi, coordinating assessment, communicating with other faculty teaching these courses, and sustaining and enriching retention efforts already in place.

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics has 22 faculty members and supports undergraduate majors in Mathematics, Applied Statistics, and Actuarial Mathematics, along with a master’s program in Applied and Computational Mathematics.
