The Department of Mathematics at the University of Texas Arlington (UTA) invites applications for two non-tenure-track (NTT) faculty positions beginning the Fall 2021 Semester. The NTT faculty positions are full-time, one-year visiting positions at the rank of lecturer. Teaching excellence is expected for the position. Salary and rank will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The responsibilities of the full-time NTT faculty will include teaching undergraduate mathematics service courses and working closely with the Learning Resource Center in the Department of Mathematics. The minimum qualifications for lecturers are an earned MS or MA in mathematics or statistics. While outstanding applicants from all mathematical areas will be considered, preference for the position will be given to those with significant experience in or strong commitment to undergraduate mathematics teaching, student engagement, and mentoring. Special consideration will be given to those with experience teaching remedial and entry-level mathematics.

The Department of Mathematics is a major center for mathematics research and education in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and North Texas. It serves more than 10,000 students annually and features nationally recognized faculty with outstanding accomplishments in teaching, research, and service. The department offers a variety of degree programs, including BA, BS, MA, MS, and PhD in pure and applied mathematics, statistics, and mathematics education. It currently offers over 100 sections of lower-division mathematics courses per semester.
