BRANDEIS UNIVERSITY Department of Mathematics invites applications for a 3-year postdoctoral position beginning fall 2022, subject to budgetary approval. The teaching commitment is three semester courses per year. Candidates must have a Ph.D., demonstrate potential for excellence in research, and display a commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching. Candidates in all areas of pure and applied mathematics will be considered; applications from under-represented groups are strongly encouraged (see statement below).

 The search committee is particularly interested in candidates who, through their research, teaching and/or service experiences, will increase Brandeis’ reputation for academic excellence and better prepare its students for a pluralistic society. Please submit a statement on your contributions to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, including information about your understanding of these issues, your record of professional activities, mentoring, and contributions to the discipline that are indicators of your commitment to advancing equity and inclusion if hired as a Brandeis faculty member.  Applicants may wish to refer to the document Writing an Effective Diversity Statement for guidance.

 Applications should include an AMS coversheet, a curriculum vitae, a teaching statement, a research statement, a diversity statement (which can be a stand-alone statement or included as part of a cover letter), a list of publications and four letters of recommendation, one of which addresses teaching effectiveness.  Applications should be submitted through Mathjobs.org/jobs.
