Position Description:    

Description: The Department of Applied Mathematics at the University of Washington invites applications for Acting Instructor positions. These instructors will teach courses in the department’s Applied Mathematics or Computational and Risk Finance Management (CFRM) programs, starting September 16, 2022. These full-time temporary non-tenure faculty positions are renewable for a total duration of three years dependent on satisfactory performance in teaching and research. Successful applicants will teach up to 5 one-quarter courses each year (this is less than a 2+2 load on a semester system) of the appointment and are expected to engage in research. Qualifications: Requirements include (1) background and interest in many aspects of Applied Mathematics or Computational or Mathematical Finance; (2) a PhD or foreign equivalent in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or another relevant field; (3) an ability and affinity for communicating ideas of Applied Mathematics and/or Finance, in both teaching and research settings.
