The Department of Statistics at Oklahoma State University (OSU) invites applications for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. Requirements for this position include a Ph.D. in statistics or biostatistics, excellent teaching skills and outstanding research or evident potential. Grant success or potential for, is highly regarded. Current need areas of the Department include statistical theory, modeling and innovative applications. All strong candidates, however, are urged to apply. A successful faculty candidate should be willing to teach from a multicultural perspective, mentor ethnically and racially underrepresented students, develop an independent research program, participate in all aspects of the department’s activities, and serve the profession. The Statistics Department has a long tradition of applications-oriented programs and maintains continuing ties with the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources Experiment Station that can afford our graduate students’ opportunities for practical training and offer faculty a consulting outlet. The department offers an undergraduate degree (BS in Statistics) and graduate degrees (MS, Ph.D. in Statistics, and MS in Applied Statistics).
