Position Description
The Department of Mathematics at the University of Utah invites applications for Instructor (Lecturer) positions.
These are three-year, non-renewable positions. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2022. Applicants must either have earned a Ph.D. in Mathematics or a closely related field, or they must have a Masters’ degree in Mathematics or closely related fields together with a substantial record of relevant experience. All candidates are expected to have a record of excellence in teaching and a demonstrated dedication to teaching and mentoring. Completed applications received before December 15, 2021, will receive full consideration. The review process can continue beyond this date until the positions are filled.
Applications must include a cover letter that describes how the position relates to the applicant’s overall career plans, a curriculum vitae, three or more letters of recommendation that address the applicant’s teaching and mentoring record; a 1-2 page statement of teaching experience, goals and philosophy; and a brief statement that addresses the applicant’s past and/or future commitment and contributions to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
