The Department of Mathematics of Baruch College – CUNY invites applications for two or more anticipated tenure-track positions beginning on or about August 24, 2022. The appointment will be at the assistant professor level.

The department offers undergraduate majors in mathematics, financial mathematics, actuarial science, and is proposing to expand the computer science minor into a major. At the graduate level we offer an MS degree in financial engineering. Baruch is one of the City University of New York's senior colleges, housing the Zicklin School of Business, the Weissman School of Arts and Sciences, and the Marxe School of Public and International Affairs. It has over 20,000 undergraduate and graduate students in its three schools.

The department will consider applications in the following research areas:

  • (60) Probability and Stochastic Processes,
  • (62) Statistics with focus on Mathematical Foundations of Data Science,
  • (91G) Actuarial Science and Mathematical Finance.
QUALIFICATIONS: A Ph.D.in Mathematics (or related area) is required, as well as strong undergraduate teaching skills and a demonstrated commitment to research.
