The Department of Mathematics of Fordham University invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professorship at our Rose Hill campus to begin in the Fall of 2022.

In all searches, we seek candidates who have demonstrated success in undergraduate teaching and mentoring and who have established an active and productive research program. Our long standing strategy for building a strong department is to consider outstanding candidates in all specialties in every position search and we encourage all such candidates to apply.

We are always specially interested in candidates with substantial experience in inclusive pedagogical practices that support the success of first-generation college students, women, and historically underrepresented groups, whose specialties give promise of leading to research collaborations with our permanent faculty, or who have applied their work integratively in collaborations with researchers in non-mathematical disciplines.

In this search, we also particularly seek applicants who work in dynamical systems, ergodic theory or topology, broadly interpreted, who can help us strengthen our new Mathematics/Computer Science major as well as a longstanding joint program with Economics, and who are able to build new bridges to other disciplines.

Fordham University is proud to be one of only 13 institutions specifically designated in Ambassador Luce’s bequest to receive funding in perpetuity to support women in STEM; this support includes opportunities for Fordham students as well as funding for a Clare Boothe Luce Professorship. The finalist for this position may also be eligible for further consideration for a Clare Boothe Luce Professorship for beginning tenure-track faculty.
