The Instituto de Matemáticas at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) seeks candidates for full-time tenure-track professor positions in Algebra, starting on August 1st, or later, 2022*. The position is for the main branch of the Institute which is in Mexico City. The position is part of a program called SIJA that looks for hiring young applicants. So there are the following restrictions: Women should not be older than 39 years old at the moment of starting the position and men should not be older than 37 years old. UNAM is the leading university of Mexico, and among the strongest research Math institutions in Latin America. The institute has more than 90 full time researchers covering many areas of Mathematics. Qualifications include postdoctoral experience (or equivalent experience), effective communication skills, commitment to teaching excellence, and an active research program in Mathematics. Responsibilities include, maintaining a strong research program, teaching one course per semester at the undergraduate or graduate level in a topic of interest to the candidate, and advising students.
