The selected fellows will spends a period (typically one semester) at the Simons Institute for the Theory of Computing as a Simons-Berkeley Fellow and is also appointed to a postdoctoral position at the CMM. In their time at the Simons Institute of Computing, the successful applicant is expected to participate in one of the following semester-long research programs: “Data-Driven Decision Processes” and “Graph Limits and Processes on Networks: From Epidemics to Misinformation” in Fall 2022, and “Meta-Complexity” in Spring 2023. The details of these programs can be found at https://simons.berkeley.edu/programs/current

Before or after their stay at the Simons Institute of Computing, the research fellows should spend at least 6 months at CMM. Longer stays are encouraged. For information on current research activities at CMM see https://www.cmm.uchile.cl

The fellowships offer a competitive salary and are intended for exceptional young scientists with a recent PhD (within at most five years of the award of their PhD at the start of academic year 2022-23). Applications from women and other STEM minorities are particularly encouraged.

Applications must be submitted through no later than December 15, 2021, to ensure full consideration. Applications consist of the following documents: a cover letter, a Curriculum Vitae (including a list of publications), and a research statement. These documents must be submitted using the form at http://go.cmm.uchile.cl/postdocsimons

In addition, applicants should arrange for three letters of recommendation to be sent directly by the recommenders by December 31, 2021, to Postdoc_SimonsCMM@cmm.uchile.cl

Applicants are required to apply simultaneously at the Simons Institute for the Theory of Computing. For an application to be successful, the candidate has to be selected by both host institutions.
