The Department of Mathematics & Statistics at the University of South Florida seeks to fill a 12-month, full-time, Postdoctoral Scholar position in Mathematics to begin on August 8, 2022. Salary is $47,659.

A Ph.D. in Mathematics or a closely-related field is required. The degree must be conferred by the appointment start date. Applicant must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Postdoctoral Scholar. Preference will be given to candidates who have received their Ph.D. in Mathematics within the last three years and whose research area is in Applied Algebra, Cryptography, Arboreal Galois Representation, or Coding Theory and/or has significant overlap with research of faculty members active in these areas.

This position carries a teaching load of three (3) courses per year. The contract is renewable for an additional year, subject to final budget approval and satisfactory performance in both research and teaching.
