The Department of Mathematics at Texas Christian University (TCU) invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position beginning in August 2022. Qualifications include eligibility to work in the U.S. and an academic background that has prepared the candidate to teach upper level courses in statistics that form parts of our actuarial and data science programs. Candidates for this position are expected to take an active role in both programs. Required are a Ph.D., by August 2022, in Statistics, Actuarial Science, Data Science, Biostatistics, Financial Mathematics, Mathematics, or Applied Mathematics; excellent research potential; and a record of outstanding teaching.

Founded in 1873, TCU is a secular institution of approximately 11,000 students with a faculty devoted to excellence in teaching. TCU prioritizes diversity and inclusion in students, staff, and faculty; highly engaged and interdisciplinary learning; and community engagement. The Department of Mathematics currently has 18 full-time faculty members, approximately 125 majors, and a small graduate program. The university is located within the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, a vibrant metropolitan area of about 8 million people.
