Yau Mathematical Sciences Center Yau Mathematical Sciences Center (YMSC) was launched in December 2009. The founding director is Professor Shing-Tung Yau, recipient of numerous honors and awards such as Fields medal, Crafoord Prize and Wolf Prize. As of October 2021, there are over 70 faculty members including world renown scholars such as Caucher Birkar, Donald Rubin, Nicolai Reshetikhin, Eduard Looijenga and over 50 postdoctoral fellows working full-time at YMSC. They form six main research groups: 1. Representation Theory, Algebraic Geometry and Number Theory 2. Geometry and Topology 3. Analysis, Partial Differential Equation (PDE) and Dynamical Systems 4. Probability and Statistics 5. Computational and Applied Mathematics 6. Mathematical Physics YMSC offers S.-T. Yau Graduate Student Stipend with a competitive package to support the study, academic activities and living of students. The annual stipend and research funds are comparable to those of other prestigious fellowships in the world.
