The Institute for STEM Education at Clarkson University invites applications for a tenure track assistant professor faculty position, with teaching responsibilities in the Department of Mathematics, starting on or around August 1, 2022. The Institute for STEM Education focuses on pedagogical research and has an especially strong tradition of collaborative work with other departments and the K12 Community. One goal in this hiring cycle is to grow our research capacity in the area of STEM Education and broaden our K12 Outreach initiatives.

We seek exceptionally qualified applicants with expertise in mathematics education, mathematical modeling, computational thinking, or as otherwise contributes to existing institute and departmental strengths. Clarkson University encourages interdisciplinary research among its faculty and candidates who extend and enrich that collaborative tradition will find this environment to be particularly productive. Clarkson expects candidates to excel as both teachers and researchers while making clear collegial contributions to the operation of the institute. Additionally, they might supplement that scholarship with disciplinary research, to include (perhaps) supervision of PhD students.

Essential Skills: Effective instructor of undergraduate and graduate courses in Mathematics. Effective undergraduate and graduate student research mentoring. Ability to develop and maintain a collaborative research program with Clarkson and external collaborators, particularly K12 partners.
