The role

The School of Mathematics is seeking to appoint a Lecturer (analogous to Assistant Professor) to join its Institute for Pure Mathematics. We are looking for a world-class researcher in pure mathematics, and we especially welcome applicants working in Number Theory, broadly taken. The post-holder will be responsible for their own research programme, undertaking independent research, teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students, and taking on appropriate administrative duties. Currently, most of the research at the Institute focusses on Algebra, Combinatorics, Geometry, Number Theory, Logic & Set Theory and Topology. It has strong links outside the Institute, both within the School of Mathematics and University wide, and especially to the Institute for Probability, Analysis and Dynamics, the Institute for Mathematical Physics and the Heilbronn Institute for Mathematical Research.

What will you be doing?

The post-holder will be responsible for developing her or his own research programme, carry out appropriate administrative tasks and deliver excellence in teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
