The Mathematical Institute of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the University of Bonn

invites applications for a tenured


Professorship (W2) in Pure Mathematics (m/f/d)


to be filled as soon as possible.


Successful candidates are expected to be internationally renowned in an area of pure mathematics,

complementing the areas represented by the existing research groups.


The successful candidate will be member of the Hausdorff Center for Mathematics, a Cluster of Excellence

funded by the German Science Foundation (DFG), and expected to actively participate in the acquisition of

further third party research funding.


Teaching is to be done in German and/or English in all phases of the study programs in mathematics. Therefore

relevant experience in teaching is expected.


Participation in academic administration is part of the duties.


The general conditions of employment are according to § 36 of the Higher Education Act of North Rhine-

Westphalia (Hochschulgesetz des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen).
