New York Tech’s College of Arts and Sciences invites applications for a Full Time, Tenure Track Assistant Professor, Mathematics. While the position is primarily based in Old Westbury, faculty may have occasional responsibilities at our NYC campus.

Expertise in Applied Mathematics with research specialization in one or more of the following areas: scientific computing, machine learning, computational applied mathematics, with applications in any of engineering sciences, bio-mathematics, fluid dynamics, statistics, mathematical modeling, and other computational problems in stem discipline.

Required to teach all pre-calculus, calculus service courses, intermediate and advanced courses in the department’s Applied and Computational mathematics major.

NYIT emphasizes interdisciplinary research and teaching. The faculty member will work with department members to strengthen our new computational mathematics concentration. Qualifications A Ph.D. degree in Mathematics /Applied Mathematics/Statistics/any field within Computational Mathematics is required. Candidate must demonstrate excellent teaching and must have a well-defined research program with publications/showing promise for publication. Exceptional candidates from other areas of Applied Mathematics, Pure Mathematics and Statistics will also be considered.
