The Denison University Department of Mathematics invites applications for a one-year visiting assistant professorship starting in the Fall of 2022. Candidates must have earned a Ph.D. in Mathematics or Statistics. In their cover letter, candidates should address their experience interacting with and mentoring undergraduate students. They should provide evidence of teaching excellence and the ability to create effective active learning experiences in the classroom. Candidates also should speak to their ability to contribute to key components of Denison's mission “... to inspire and educate our students to become autonomous thinkers, discerning moral agents and active citizens of a democratic society.” Denison University is one of the nation’s leading liberal arts colleges with about 2,300 undergraduates and 235 total faculty. It is a vibrant and diverse residential campus with 21% domestic students of color, 16% international students, 17% first-generation students, altogether from 40 US states and 23 countries. The Department of Mathematics graduates on average 20 majors and 15 minors each year. We engage our students in a myriad of ways ranging from department-sponsored social events to internally funded undergraduate research. We are also committed to mentoring our visiting faculty to be successful teachers, scholars, and colleagues as they progress in their careers.

Qualifications 
Candidates must have earned a Ph.D. in Mathematics or Statistics. Candidates should address their experience interacting with and mentoring undergraduate students. They should provide evidence of teaching excellence and the ability to create effective active learning experiences in the classroom.
