About the Position: The Shefa School is seeking a Lead Middle School Math Teacher for September 2022.

Key Responsibilities: The Middle School Math Teacher will teach and provide specialized math instruction to small groups of middle school students in Grades 6-8. In addition to developing curriculum and delivering instruction, the Middle School Math Teacher will be responsible for assessing student learning, managing classroom routines and behavior, building relationships and communicating regularly with families, and collaborating with other faculty.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have expertise in working with students with language-based learning disabilities as well as deep mathematical content knowledge. Candidates should be well-versed in a variety of math curricula and programs and should demonstrate flexibility and comfort with risk-taking and ambiguity. We seek teachers who thrive in highly collaborative environments, who are reflective and committed to growth, who have strong communication skills, and who demonstrate a strong commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. Applicants must have at least 3 years of teaching experience and should have a Master’s degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or Special Education.
