Full Professor of Algebraic Geometry at salary grade W3 to commence on October 1st, 2023. This is a permanent civil service position.

We are seeking an internationally recognized person with an excellent research track record in algebraic geometry to complement our existing research interests. We expect experience in the acquisition of third-party funding and the willingness to cooperate with the working group in complex geometry, number theory, and algebra, in particular regarding possible joint funding applications.

The successful candidate will teach courses, mainly in algebra and geometry, for students in the various study programs in mathematics; this includes the education of future high school teachers. The candidate is expected to further contribute to the service courses of the Mathematics Department for other subjects. Experience in the training of young researchers would be desirable.

The ability to teach in English is expected; international applicants must be willing and able to teach in German after some period of time.
