The Mathematics and Statistics Department is seeking two full-time term faculty positions, at the rank of Assistant Professor or Instructor, determined by qualifications. This is a non-tenure-track appointment for fall semester 2022 and spring semester 2023, with possible extension as needed by the department. PhD. required for Assistant Professor (9403). Master’s degree required for Instructor (9404). The appointment starts August 22, 2022.

Duties & Responsibilities: Teaching and Advising: (approximately 90%) • Teach courses based on approved course curriculum in consultation with the department head • Develop assessment measures (i.e., exams, quizzes, presentations, papers) • Provide students with grade status throughout each semester • Hold weekly office hours • Provide academic advising to undergraduate students

Possible course assignments include: • MATH 1005 - College Algebra • MATH 3101-Theory of Interest • STAT 1411- Introduction to Statistics • STAT 2411- Statistical Methods • STAT 3411- Engineering Statistics • STAT 3611- Introduction to Probability and Statistics I • STAT 4511/5511- Regression • STAT 4531/5531- Probability Models • STAT 4571/5571- Probability • STAT 5411-Analysis of Variance

Service: (approximately 10%) • Attend faculty meetings • Participate in committees, other service or outreach activities Qualifications

Required Qualifications: • PhD. in statistics, mathematics, or related field awarded by time of appointment from a regionally accredited institution (9403) or Master's degree in statistics, mathematics, or related field awarded by time of appointment from a regionally accredited institution (9404) • Experience working effectively with diverse groups in educational settings

Preferred Qualifications: • Previous teaching experience at the collegiate level (such as teaching assistant experience) to a diverse group of students • Evidence of effective teaching • Evidence of scholarship in statistics, mathematics, or related field • Effective written and oral communication skills appropriate to the position
