Division of Mathematical Sciences, School of Physical & Mathematical Sciences, NTU Singapore The PhD in Mathematical Sciences programme
offered by the Division of Mathematical Sciences at Nanyang Technological
University, Singapore, is a four year program that provides students with a
stimulating environment for conducting original research in mathematical
sciences. For more information on the degree programme, please see https://www.ntu.edu.sg/spms/about-us/mathematics/grad/phd A limited number of scholarships covering tuition
fees and stipend for the four years of the degree programme is available.
Please see https://www.ntu.edu.sg/spms/admissions/grad/scholarships
for more information. In addition, the following faculty members
have scholarships available to the interested applicants. Title: 2 PhD Positions in Geometry, Probability, and Deep Learning Type:
PhD Student Program Location:
Nanyang Technological University (NTU, Singapore) Deadline:
07/07/2022 Subject Area: Mathematical Data Science Applications
are invited for 2 doctoral positions in Geometry, Probability, and Deep
Learning at the Department of Mathematics, Nanyang Technological University
(NTU) Singapore. The ideal candidates will have an academic background in at
least one of these fields, including particularly in infinite-dimensional
Riemannian or metric geometry, infinite-dimensional probability or stochastic
analysis, statistical learning theory, coding theory, inverse problems, or
harmonic analysis. The positions are part of the project "Geometry, Probability, and Deep Learning" funded by Singapore's National Research Foundation. The goal of this project is to use geometric and probabilistic methods for analyzing the effectiveness of deep learning, to use deep learning methods for improving algorithms in probability and geometry, to advance the mathematical foundations of these methods, and to develop applications in e.g. mathematical finance or biomedical shape analysis. The positions are funded over a period of 4 years with starting date in January 2023 or, if that is too soon, August 2023. If you are interested, please send your CV, list of publications, and research statement (1-2 pages) in a single PDF to Philipp Harms philipp.harms@ntu.edu.sg. The application deadline for the January 2023 intake is early July. The search will continue until the positions are filled. Mathematical Sciences of the Nanyang Technological
University (NTU, Singapore) Type: PhD Student Program Location: Nanyang Technological University (NTU, Singapore) Deadline: 30/09/2022 Research
opportunity at the Division of Mathematical Sciences of the Nanyang
Technological University (NTU, Singapore) I am
looking for a candidate to fill a position in my research group at the graduate
student level. I am looking for mathematicians, statisticians, physicists, or
candidates with diplomas in closely related fields, interested in research at
the interface between geometry, dynamics, and learning. Even though it is not a
necessary condition, candidates with expertise in reservoir computing,
geometric mechanics, variational and structure-preserving integration,
dynamical systems, or statistical learning will be highly considered. The
Graduate scholarship is a four-year grant towards the obtention of a PhD in
mathematics. Candidates must apply for admission to NTU by the beginning of
September. Candidates holding diplomas from certain countries may need to
provide GRE scores and/or proofs of proficiency in English. The successful
candidate will start his/her graduate studies by January 2023. Interested
candidates should contact Prof. Juan-Pablo Ortega at Juan-Pablo.Ortega@ntu.edu.sg. Contact Name: Juan-Pablo.Ortega Contact Email: Juan-Pablo.Ortega@ntu.edu.sg
