Founded in 1963, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is a forward-looking comprehensive research university with a global vision and a mission to combine tradition with modernity, and to bring together China and the West. The Department of Mathematics in CUHK has developed a strong reputation in teaching and research. The Department is highly ranked internationally, e.g., it is 37th and 41st in the 2021 and 2022 QS World University Rankings, and 41st and 51st in the 2021 and 2022 US News Rankings, respectively. Applications are invited for two 2-3 year postdoctoral positions, to work with Professor Bangti Jin. The projects are focused on applied and computational mathematics broadly, especially computational inverse problems, numerical analysis (numerical methods for PDEs) and mathematical aspects of machine learning / deep learning.
