The School of Mathematical Sciences at QUT is looking to recruit a Lecturer (Level B) who is able to provide strategic capacity in both research and teaching within the School. The school’s research and teaching has a strong focus on applied and computational mathematics, operations research and statistics. We are seeking to appoint an applied mathematician or statistician with research interests in mathematical ecology, optimal environmental management or a closely related field. Other candidates with a capacity to contribute to these fields are also encouraged to apply. Suitable candidates may have demonstrated knowledge and experience in mathematical decision science or operations research applied to ecological or natural resource problems. There will be an opportunity to collaborate with researchers in spatial decision science, stochastic operations research, optimal control, simulation analysis, and/or Markov decision processes. The successful candidate will have an interest and ability to provide high-quality learning experiences in disciplines covered by the school: applied and computational mathematics, statistics, operations research, engineering, science and health science. This appointment will be offered on a fixed term, full-time basis for 18 months. |
