The University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health departments of population health sciences and biostatistics seek a tenure track (assistant or associate) faculty member. This faculty appointment will be on an annual pay basis and therefore will include summer compensation. Research responsibilities: contribute to the University of Wisconsin’s commitment to research excellence by establishing an extramurally funded research program with a particular focus on applied and methodological research with applications to basic biomedical science, clinical research, epidemiologic research, and/or public health. Teaching responsibilities: teach one course per academic year, including teaching in the biostatistics sequence required for students in the Population Health and Epidemiology PhD programs and serving as a trainer in PHS/BMI graduate programs, including the BMI Biomedical Data Sciences MS and PhD programs. Education requirements: PhD or equivalent in Statistics, Biostatistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Epidemiology, or closely related quantitative field. Required qualifications: Expertise in clinical investigation, epidemiologic studies and/or health services research is required. Relevant areas of methodologic expertise include but are not limited to causal inference, latent variable models, survey statistics, missing data, longitudinal and survival data, Bayesian methods, health informatics, social demography, and population genetics.
