Richard Duke Professorship in Mathematics

The School of Mathematics at Georgia Institute of Technology invites applications for the newly endowed Richard Duke Professorship. It is expected that the appointment will be at the mid-career level, although applications are encouraged from candidates at any stage of their career. Priority will be given to those candidates whose research area is related to the Algorithms Combinatorics and Optimization program (https://aco.gatech.edu/), interpreted broadly, with a demonstrated research record of exceptional quality. The holder of the Duke Professorship is expected to play a leadership role in the School, to further expand the School’s research strengths, to be active in supervision and mentoring of junior researchers at all levels, to attract external funding, and to contribute to high-quality teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, demonstrating an exceptional commitment to the teaching and mentoring of students. A Ph.D. (or its equivalent) in Mathematics, or a closely related field, is required.

This position presents exceptional opportunities for research, leadership, and training in a vibrant environment provided by the School of Mathematics and Georgia Tech. The School has thriving graduate and postdoctoral programs. It is active in several cross-disciplinary research and training programs, with leadership of several new NSF-funded centers.
