Auburn University - Department of Mathematics and Statistics Open Rank Position in Discrete Mathematics The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Auburn University invites applications for a nine-month tenure-track Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor position beginning on August 16, 2023. We seek applicants with research specialization in any area of Discrete Mathematics. An earned doctorate in Mathematics or related field by the appointment start date is required, and candidates should have strong evidence of teaching and research ability. Postdoctoral research experience is desired for applicants at the assistant level, and a good record of external funding is required for more senior-level applicants. The successful candidate will develop an independent research program at Auburn, enhancing and complementing the department’s current research group in discrete mathematics. The successful candidate will also teach at the undergraduate and graduate level and supervise graduate students. Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills are required, including an ability to communicate effectively in English. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States at the time appointment begins and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment. The Department of Mathematics and Statistics has a PhD program and various MS programs, including a new MS program in Data Science. It has over 50 mathematicians/statisticians and more than 120 graduate students engaged in research in a wide variety of areas in mathematics and statistics.
