Assistant Professor of Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Skidmore College invites applications for two tenure track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor in Mathematics beginning in September 2023. Qualifications include a doctorate in mathematics with research in pure mathematics. Commitment to quality instruction of undergraduates and continuing scholarly achievement are essential. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience. Startup funds and pre-tenure sabbaticals are also available.

Skidmore College is a highly selective, nationally ranked liberal arts college that fosters creative approaches to teaching and learning. With its relatively small size and low student-faculty ratio, the College is a close-knit academic community. Skidmore’s faculty of teacher-scholars are devoted to the instruction and mentoring of approximately 2,700 talented undergraduate students from across the nation and around the world. The Department of Mathematics and Statistics is located in Skidmore’s Billie Tisch Center for Integrated Sciences, a state-of-the-art teaching and learning space that fosters unique interdisciplinary connections across the sciences, arts, humanities, and social sciences, and consists of approximately 12 full-time faculty members and offers both a major and a minor in Mathematics and a minor in Statistics.
