FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Brooklyn College of the City University of New York (CUNY) invites applications for two full-time Lecturer positions in the Department of Mathematics with a starting date in August 2023.

The successful candidates are expected to:

  • Teach courses in college algebra, precalculus, and calculus
  • Join a CUNY-wide cohort of new lecturers and engage in a program of ongoing pedagogical development
  • Provide student guidance and mentorship in mathematics
  • Provide service to the department, College, and University

Candidates will be required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 upon commencing employment. Exemption (medical or religious) requests to this requirement will be considered in accordance with applicable law. Being fully vaccinated is defined for this purpose as being at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen. Final candidates must be fully vaccinated as of their first day of employment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum

  • Bachelor’s degree. in mathematics or related field from an accredited institution
  • Potential for excellence in teaching, including online teaching.
  • Ability to teach evening, weekends, in face-to-face and online formats
Preferred
  • Master’s degree in mathematics or related field from an accredited institution preferred.
  • Familiarity with online homework management systems
  • Familiarity of best-practices in technology use (both for in-person and online courses)
COMPENSATION

$69,983 - $83,764; Salary commensurate with experience and credentials.
