Dyson College of Arts and Sciences of Pace University is seeking applicants for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Mathematics Department to begin September 2023. The position is located at the University’s campus in Pleasantville, NY in Westchester County. 

The successful candidate will teach mathematics and statistics courses at the undergraduate level, advise students, and maintain a program of active scholarship. Graduate level courses in other departments may also be available depending on experience and interest. A demonstrated commitment to student-centered learning and excellence in teaching is required.

Candidates must possess a doctorate in mathematics, statistics, applied mathematics or related field. Preference will be given to those with a PhD in statistics, biostatistics or applied mathematics and to those applicants whose research is specifically focused on issues pertaining to underrepresented populations. 

We are seeking candidates who have an active interest in interdisciplinary collaboration with researchers in STEM departments, specifically with those working in Biology and Psychology or other areas depending on interest and experience and commitment to mentoring students from underrepresented populations. As a part of a university initiative to increase representation in STEM fields, the successful candidate will participate in an interdisciplinary mentoring program specifically focused on underrepresented students interested in pursuing a career in the sciences. 

The successful candidate should be committed to undergraduate education, be able to guide students in executing research, should be involved in a program of research, and be prepared to develop, initiate, and successfully implement a program of research and scholarship.
