The Division of Computing, Analytics and Mathematics at the University of Missouri-Kansas City invites applications for multiple Graduate Teaching Assistant positions (GTAs) in Fall 2023. GTAs are expected to work 20 hours per week during a fall or spring semester. GTAs will receive competitive monthly payments and a fellowship for up to 9 hours of graduate coursework towards their plan of study. Summer teaching is often available, which provides additional pay. The duties of the GTAs, under the supervision of the faculty and/or staff, may include

1. Assist faculty members with classroom instruction and proctoring exams. 2. Create and write materials such as a syllabus, answer keys, and supplementary notes. 3. Tutor or mentor students. 4. Prepare presentations for lectures. 5. Hand out assignments and grade papers. 6. Record grades and inform students of their final grades. 7. Arrange for teaching observations. 8. Meet with students during office hours. 9. Teach entry-level Math or Stat courses.

Eligibility:

1. Must have a bachelor’s or a master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields. 2. One of the degrees must be from a U.S. institution

Note that GRE scores are no longer required for MS applicants, and may be waived for PhD applicants if necessary.
