| The Department of Mathematics at Western Kentucky University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of tenure-track eligible Assistant Professor with a specialization in Mathematics Education. The Department is housed in the Ogden College of Science and Engineering, and it has 32 diverse faculty representing all major research areas in mathematics. The Department serves approximately 135 undergraduate mathematics majors, has graduate MA and MS programs, and teaches mathematics service courses to WKU students.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in mathematics for pre-service and in-service teachers. The candidate will be productive in mathematics education research and in grant writing. The candidate will work closely with other faculty members in the department to review and revise mathematics courses for teachers at all levels, recruit prospective mathematics education students, and support current reform initiatives in mathematics education congruous with the efforts of WKU's SKyTeach program, which is a replication of UTeach.
Requirements:
Doctorate in Mathematics Education or closely related field, and a master's in mathematics or equivalent (i.e., 30 hours minimum of graduate-level mathematics) at time of appointment; ABDs will be considered with the expectation of completion prior to the date of employment (August 2023)
